If you have been on the planet long enough you will find that you can experience a variety of atmospheres. Depending on the places you go during the day you can discover a wide range in the types of spiritual climates. But we are not called to conform to oppressive atmospheres but to change them with the light of God. We can have impact wherever we go, bringing the atmosphere of heaven.
The other day we were at a burger spot, a fun spot for the kids. There was a lady and her husband sitting caddy corner to us that noticed our kids and started talking to us. After a while I noticed that she had a neck brace on. She shared that she had several health issues. I really felt we were to pray for her but it would have been awkward at that time. We waited till they were getting ready to leave and caught them as they were walking out the door. I asked if we could pray with them and they was more than willing. The Presence of God came strong upon them. The Holy Spirit wafted in shifting the atmosphere with healing presence being released. The expressions on their faces completely changed as the joy of the Spirit’s Presence came in.
About 3 years ago I had the opportunity to pray for a man that I thought I would never see again. But just recently I did happen to run into him. He recognized me and told me that he previously had near death health issues that disappeared after the prayer that had been prayed those years earlier. It was awesome to run into this man again to hear his testimony. God is awesome! God completely changed his life through a simple prayer.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. There are so many opportunities out there with people carrying all kinds of issues, heaviness, oppression, worry and fear. You can be the one who changes their atmosphere just through taking time to bring them into an experience with God’s Presence.
When we carry the atmosphere of heaven we can affect others experience. Here are some practical steps you can take to begin to carry the Presence of God to share with others:
1. Take time soaking in the Presence of God. You can do nothing apart from Him so don’t forsake your devotional time with God. Incorporate times where it is a spirit to Spirit engagement, communing with the Holy Spirit. Allow the Spirit of worship to saturate your life.
2. Spend time meditating on the Word of God, let faith rise in your heart, write down what God is saying to you and the revelation that God gives you.
3. Release your spirit in worship through audible praise, worship and intercession. Speak the Word of God over your life, the promise of God for your life and your loved ones. Believe for the best and God’s goodness manifested in your life.
4. Keep your eyes open for opportunities to share with others, pray for them and help them experience God out of your own personal devotion. Let God fill you with faith to pray for others, step out of your comfort zone. God will meet you there!
