The Weight of His Glory in Worship

John Belt

Have you ever experienced the weight of His glory in worship? If you have you know that this is the way to live. Anything less than this comes up short. God desires us to live in the place of His glory. When we begin to live in the place of His weighty glory, our lives then experience more of His life and desires. His glory is the place we tangibly connect with Him. There really is no formula to it. When our hearts are hungry for God it does not take much to get us in the place of experiencing His Presence. With our hunger in place here are a few things that can translate that hunger into a living experience with God.

1. Strongly Vocalize Your Worship

Psalms 89:15
“Blessed are the people who know the joyfUul sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.”

You want sense the river of life flowing out in your worship. You want to release the sound. This does not mean you have to shout, although that is permissible. More importantly it is about “volume”. You have heard it said, “Turn up the volume!” There are times we need to just turn up the volume of our worship to God. Understand that the devil does not like your voice when it is consecrated to God. He does not want to hear you. He also does not want you to fill the atmosphere of the earth with praise to God.

Psalms 22:3
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.”

When we do praise God inhabits that praise, in turn inhabiting us. When we turn up the volume of our worship, we are also releasing a boldness inside of us. When we don’t care what other people think it is a good thing. We need to honor the Lord before men. God is first. When we put Him first in all things He cannot help but bless us.

It is also not about the words. Firstly, it is about where you are directing your sound to God. You do not need words to worship. You can make a joyful sound. The more you can get the sound from within your spirit the better. Obviously you can use words. I love to use the name of Jesus and any other words that come in the flow of heart worship. It is also good to sing in the Spirit, pray in tongues, sing in tongues and even groan in the Spirit at times. You want to feel the spirit of worship flowing toward God from within yourself. In worship, there is the weight of His glory.

2. Worship Until You Sense a Saturation

Worship for some time before the Lord. Realize that worship is all about the Lord, but in the process you benefit. In our worship we should sense the blessing of God coming upon us. This is where He begins to pour out His weighty Presence upon us.

Joel 2:29
“And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”

Welcome Him to come in this way. Also realize that it is the Holy Spirit filling you in your worship. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you more.

3. Continue to Soak in that Saturation

In a place of sensing the saturation of the Spirit don’t rush to the next thing. Move in and out of worship to God, give and receive. The Lord will begin to speak to you things that you need to hear. This is the Holy Spirit coming in wisdom and revelation.

John 16:13
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Stay in a place of sensitivity allowing Him to speak. Then write down what you are hearing. Stop and worship a little more, then hear more, worship a little more, then hear more, write more and etc.

4. Carry the Weighty Presence of God

You can continue in this throughout the day by maintaining a heart of worship and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. He will show you things to record, things to do as a blessing to others. This is a very powerful thing to be connected to the Holy Spirit in such an intimate way. This is how we are the most highly blessed people, having this awesome communication with God. Because we are blessed in this way, we are then able to be a blessing to other people. As we go out we can pour out on others.
