Your Voice Matters
One of the keys that God has given us for spiritual breakthrough is the vocalizing of our worship in song. As we live A life of communion with God we find that vocalizing praise to God is a powerful way to experience him on a daily basis. God inhabits our praises. One of the things that the devil likes to shut down is YOUR VOICE. Having a voice means something. In the beginning GOD SPOKE, “Let there be light”.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:3
All that was created was by the spoken word of God. That should tell us something about the importance of vocalization. Thoughts are powerful but they remain in a dormant state until acted upon. You can think “I love you Lord.” That is good… not to be diminished a bit. But you can bring that up to another level by vocalizing your love for God.
Worship is a way that we can more easily come up higher in an experience with God’s Presence. If you struggle to experience God’s Presence try being more vocal. There is power in the Name of Jesus. Speaking His Name has power when we know Him.
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Singing His Name can, again, take it up another level. Maybe it’s comparable to having a good meal. The meal is good but then you add a little spice to it then you kicked it up! Now it’s REALLY GOOD!
Ascending in Worship
The atmosphere of heaven is filled with worship – when we engage in that same worship going on there we experience a deeper intimate connection with God here. You may be familiar with the term third heaven. This is the realm of God, even the heaven of heavens. It is the highest heaven.
As we ascend in our worship to God we are moving above all the warfare, the cares of this life in the world – passing all the stuff that’s going on and just getting into His Presence. This is where we find refreshing, have encounters with God and get clear revelation on His will for our lives.
The Benefits of Engagement
There are many benefits as we engage with God. The best is experiencing GOD HIMSELF! Another is that our thoughts change. Where you may have just been thinking about yourself – now you are thinking about God. That is a positive shift in the right direction!
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
The truth is the more we focus on Him the more we become like Him and the more He becomes involved in our lives. We are transformed as we behold his face and become reflectors of his nature.
Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will BECOME IN HIM A FOUNTAIN of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:13-14
Another benefit is that our spirit is refreshed. We experience the overflow of his waters in our heart which is also transforming to our soul. Jesus promised the woman at the well the “living water” which would bring eternal refreshing. Eternal life is not in the future but begins when we receive the Lord into our hearts, even His Holy Spirit.
When we are washed by his presence then we experience his peace that passes understanding. In this place we learn to live by the inside out, instead of outside in. When we try to live by a list of things to do, even for God, then we end up with a very dry and stale way of life – not to mention boring!
When we live from the inside out the Holy Spirit is bringing the changes that are needed as this is heaven’s method. In this place with God we discover our true identity as we are part of His family.
Worship is a privilege. Worship is a key to our communion with God . Worship is a weapon. The Father seeks true worshippers. In essence at the very core of worship is a surrendered heart. It can bring us into a place of surrender and give God the opportunity to bring victory into our lives. Surrendered worship ushers in his peace, joy, love and grace to the Overflow! Engage in worship with the Lord and come up higher in His Spirit.
